  • Today was Gabe's first day of preschool!  He woke up and waved goodbye to his sister as she got on the bus.  Then sat down to a big breakfast of waffles and eggs.  102_1098   After he got dressed he posed for the required first day of school pictures in front of the house 102_1107  He was very excited to go.  Ever since we moved here we have not seen any traffic - nothing like in CA.  SO much to our surprise, we came across this as we entered the freeway on the way to preschool 102_1112  I don't know if you can tell but it stretches as far as you can see.  Unheard of here (so far at least!). Gabe thought it was all the other mommies and daddies taking their children to the first day of preschool too.  :)  We arrived 102_1114 and went in.  His school grounds are just beautiful.  So much grass and trees and green green green!!!  There isn't even a fence around the yard!  102_1115 He found his cubby and snack chair 102_1116  It was kind of funny how none of us moms knew exactly when to leave.  We all sort of hovered for a while until one of the more "seasoned" moms kissed her daughter on the head and left.  That was a bit of a cue for the rest of us.  :)  I kissed Gabe and told him we will be there when he gets out.  He waved and was totally fine.  It felt so strange to leave him there.  I haven't been without him by my side in so long.  I ran a few errands and went back early.  I was able to spy him playing on the playground for a bit without him noticing.  He looked so happy, confident, and independant.  What a beautiful little boy my baby has turned out to be!

Isn't the free time freakish? I feel the freedom, but I'm afraid to really use it yet. But I am actually caught up on housework and I've been making meal plans & cooking. Today I went to Knit/Purl and felt like I was skipping school!

Gabriel looks so happy and relaxed. And grown up!! Weep!

@beanmama - I am totally torn between doing what I ought to be doing when he is at school and just sitting and knitting.  I almost feel like I could justify it by saying I am just preparing for winter.  ;)  Gabe is only going Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week so I don't know exactly how much I will be able to get caught up on.  (I'm giving myself an out!)

I'm glad his first day went well. The space pajamas are cool, they glow right? Aidan has a space pair too.

I have to say I'm kinda jealous of the free time you and beanmama have now. Although I guess I can't complain to much today, as Aidan spent the last couple of hours at my parent house so I could cut out fabric and catch up on some business stuff. Still it's not everyday, not even three days a week. I can be a lot more productive though when he's occupied, especially occupied at another house. :P

@EverydayGoods - Don't be jealous yet!  He has just gone for one day so far and Steve was home so I was pretty much running around non stop.  Wednesday should be good.  I was hoping to head over to JoAnne's or Hobby Lobby to check out patterns for halloween costumes.  I better get sewing!

@tellmetomyface - Thanks! I certainly think so too but I'm his mama.  :)
